Equal access to care
Nondiscrimination and language assistance
We provide care and support without discrimination and help patients communicate in the language they understand.
Effective date: October 16, 2026
Our policy
Riverbend Medical Group complies with applicable federal civil rights laws, including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. We do not discriminate, exclude people, or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex in our health programs and activities.
Our nondiscrimination policy includes protection from discrimination based on sex characteristics, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex stereotypes, to the extent protected by applicable law. We are committed to providing respectful access to care and to addressing concerns when a patient believes they have not been treated fairly.
Free aids and services for people with disabilities
We provide reasonable communication aids and services at no cost when needed to communicate effectively with people with disabilities. Depending on the request, these may include qualified sign language interpreters and written information in other formats, such as large print, audio, or accessible electronic formats.
We will work with you to understand what will be effective for your visit or communication. Please let us know as early as possible so we can arrange an appropriate aid or service. You do not need to bring your own interpreter or pay for an auxiliary aid that we arrange.
Free language services
We provide language assistance at no cost to people whose primary language is not English or who need help communicating in English. Services may include qualified interpreters and information written in other languages when available and appropriate to the communication. We do not ask patients to rely on children or other family members to interpret when a qualified interpreter is needed.
We will take reasonable steps to identify the language assistance you need and to arrange it for your care or discussion with our office. Tell us your preferred language and whether you need an interpreter when you contact us.
How to request help
Call (614) 938-2740 or ask the front desk at either office for an interpreter, an auxiliary aid, or information in another format. If you are arranging an appointment, tell us what support you need and when you will visit. If you need help after arriving, let a staff member know and we will work with you to arrange assistance.
